Religion and War

The Big three religions teach that war is wrong and only justified when it is a last resort to settle a conflict. Yet many groups such as Islamic extremists use the holy war (jihad) as a reason to promote violence.

WAR AND WORLD RELIGIONS. This site offers a great description of what many of the worlds religions teach about war. It describes the Big 3 religions as well as a few others, and how they view war, and when it should be used.

BBC - Religion & Ethics of War. This site offers another view on how many of the world’s religions deal with the topic of war, and where they stand on the issue.
Religion and global issues
All of the world religions have certain views on the issues that are plaguing our global village, and many offer solutions to help cure these ills.

Christian Science Monitor. This site has many articles about global issues, from a Christian perspective, along with describing how these issues relate to Christianity.

Islam Online. This site gives an Islamic perspective on global issues, and how the religion is influenced by these issues.

Judaism - Schwartz Collection This site had many facts sheets, as well as articles that describe how the Jewish faith looks at and deals with the many global issues that are present today.
